Etruscan Painting. Problems and Perspectives
On the 20th anniversary since the discovery of the Tomb of the Infernal Quadriga, the Civic Archaeological Museum of Sarteano is organising "Etruscan Painting. Problems and Perspectives", an important scientific event organised with the sponsorship and support of the Fondazione Luigi Rovati.
In 2003, the acts of the Conference on Etruscan Painting held in Sarteano and Chiusi were published, and the aim is now to renew the discussion on this important aspect of ancient art. Leading international experts were invited to attend the meeting and present their most recent research on Etruscan painting.
During the day on Saturday 14 October 2023, university professors and representatives of the Ministry of Culture will discuss the latest studies on Tarquinia and the new Cerretan slabs, which have become an integral part of Italy's cultural heritage over the last ten years.
The initiative has received the patronage of the National Institute for Etruscan and Italic Studies and the financial support of the Fondazione Luigi Rovati. The Region of Tuscany and the Fondazione Musei Senesi also sponsored the initiative.
