A life in the open air
Thursday, March 6 | Conversation with Diego Cibelli
On the occasion of MuseoCity 2025, on Thursday, March 6 at 6 p.m., the Luigi Rovati Foundation will host A Life in the Open Air a conversation with artist Diego Cibelli, Sylvain Bellenger and Giovanna Forlanelli, President of Fondazione Luigi Rovati. On this occasion, Cibelli will offer the public an opportunity to learn more about his creative process and preview the new site-specific project he is creating for the Art Museum.
In September, the Fondazione Luigi Rovati will come alive with a series of porcelain figures created by Cibelli, anthropomorphic and zoomorphic sculptures that recall the aesthetics of Etruscan painting and sculpture. Through these works, the artist pays homage to the Etruscans' attitude toward conviviality and the pleasure of living in harmony with nature, shaping a poetic narrative that celebrates our origins, rooted in water and light, flowers and fire.
Diego Cibelli was born in Naples in 1987, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and later moved to Berlin where he graduated from the Weissensee Kunstochschule. After five years he decided to return to his hometown and graduated in Product Design at Vanvitelli University. His artistic research has always explored humanistic geography, interpreted as the study of territories, their history and the related sense of belonging that human beings develop, generating new living spaces.
The meeting is free, reservations are recommended. The conference ticket does not include access to the Art Museum. The video of the meeting will be posted on the Fondazione's YouTube channel.
