The ‘’haunted‘’ lens of Francesca Woodman, a pioneer of performative photography

Thursday 3 October

The ‘’haunted‘’ lens of Francesca Woodman, a pioneer of performative photography is the title of the conversation between Linda Fregni Nagler (Artist and Photography Professor), Michele Smargiassi (Journalist, Critic and Curator of ‘’Fotocrazia‘’ for La Repubblica), Angela Madesani (Art Historian and Curator) and Monica Loffredo (Director of the Fondazione Luigi Rovati), curated by Johan & Levi in collaboration with Fondazione Luigi Rovati.

One of the brightest and at the same time most enigmatic stars in the history of photography, Francesca Woodman was a precocious, hypnotic and devouring talent. Approaching her photographic corpus means exploring a dimension of self-portraiture and performance photography that was ahead of its time.
