Ongoing guided tours

From 25 September 2024 to 16 February 2025, the exhibition "Faces and Allegories" curated by Carlo Sisi is open, dedicated to the sculptures of Lorenzo Bartolini (1777-1850). The works express the Italian Romantic purism of the first half of the 19th century and focus on two themes: allegory and the portrait.

The exhibition opens on the Piano Nobile with the sculpture "Carità educatrice", created in 1846, representing a female figure symbolising the values of the Restoration. The Sala Armi illustrates the artist's creative journey from model to finished sculpture. In the White Space, the theme of the face is explored, showing Bartolini's ability to connect natural and existential beauty through portraits. His aesthetic emerges in the detailed rendering of hair and hairstyles, representing both ideal beauty and the cultural context of the time.
