Luigi Rovati Foundation partners with the exhibition “From Marble to the Missile”

From May to October 2019, the venues of the Orangery of the Villa Reale and the Civic Museums of Monza hosted the exhibition From Marble to the Missile. Masterpieces of Art Unveiled Between Tradition and Innovation. An itinerary curated by Martina Corgnati, in collaboration with Lucia Molino, of more than seventy works that traced a history of tradition and innovation, progress and beauty, creativity and development rooted in Monza and its territory and typical of its collecting.

The exhibition was promoted by the Fondazione Cariplo and the Fondazione di Comunità di Monza e Brianza onlus, in partnership with Gallerie d'Italia and Fondazione Luigi Rovati, in collaboration with the Municipality of Monza, the Reggia di Monza and the Musei Civici di Monza, under the patronage of MiBACT - Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and the Province of Monza and Brianza, and with the contribution of Regione Lombardia.

The seventy works on display include masterpieces from the Etruscan period, paintings and sculptures by authors including Pietro Ronzoni, Giovanni Segantini, Emilio Gola, Achille Funi, Anselmo Bucci, Arturo Martini, Lucio Fontana, Mimmo Jodice, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Christo and Salvatore Scarpitta. A journey that will cross classical languages, such as painting and sculpture, but also experiences and forms more typical of contemporary art, revealing unexpected masterpieces that are hardly accessible to the public.
